Partnering with communities and organizations throughout Eastern North Carolina, the College of Health and Human Sciences is committed to research that drives regional transformation. Whether we are training educators, facilitating community health screenings, providing health education across the lifespan, or conducting groundbreaking bench research, community service is always at the heart of our research enterprise. CHHS proudly reflects the University’s motto, “Servire,” which means “to serve.”
Research Focus
At East Carolina University’s College of Health and Human Sciences, our faculty are addressing today’s most pressing public health concerns through rigorous study design, innovative approaches, and dedicated community service. Our portfolio includes both hypothesis-driven and service-related grants across a broad range of topical areas. Current projects are focused on maternal child health, rural health, mental health, aging, occupational and physical therapy, and the mechanics of human movement – to name a few.
